Board of Directors

HIGH CHIEF (SIR) SIMEON O. OGUNTIMEHIN, OON, JP is the Chairman. He is among the forerunners of Accountancy profession in Nigeria. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria of which he was also a past President, he was for many years a Principal Partner of Z. O. Ososanya & Co, one of the foremost Accounting firms in Nigeria. He is currently engaged in private business concern. His appointment into the Board has impacted positively on the development of the Company.

OLUGBENGA LADIPO, the Managing Director, is a qualified Accountant. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, he joined Academy Press Plc as Head, Accounts in 1998 from a background of over ten years post qualification professional experience, both in practice with one of the top practicing firms and in industry with one of the top multinationals in the food & beverages industry. He has assisted in repositioning the financial functions of the company to meet the modern day challenges. He is married with children.

BABATUNDE FASHANU, the Executive Director, Sales & Marketing. He is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University and Lagos Business School. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Industrial Design and a Professional Diploma in Advertising. He is a member of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria and Associate Registered member of IP3. He joined Academy Press in 1984 as a Production Planning Officer. In 1989, he was seconded to Lithotec Limited as a Customer Service Manager and later became the Marketing Manager; he was appointed the General Manager in 1994, a position he held until he was redeployed to Academy Press to manage the sales & marketing activities. He presently holds the position of Executive Director, Sales & Marketing in Academy Press Plc and Lithotec Limited.

LASISI A. ADERIBIGBE is a graduate of Bespoke Programme in Print Finishing at West Herts College, United Kingdom and in addition holds a diploma in Business English. He is a seasoned Lithographer with wealth of experience in Graphics Arts. He has attended various Print Solutions Courses overseas. Before his present appointment, he was a Senior Management Executive of Academy Press Plc and a Director in Lithotec Limited. He is married with children.

BABATUNDE DABIRI, an astute and seasoned banker, Tunde Dabiri holds a B.Sc. (Economics) degree from the University of Ibadan (1974) and MBA from Columbia University, New York, USA (1978). He started his career at Chase Merchant Bank Ltd (later known as Continental Bank) where he spent over 11 years before moving to Prime Merchant Bank Ltd as the founding Deputy Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. He disengaged from Prime Merchant Bank in 1990 to help establish Fountain Trust Bank Ltd where he was the Managing Director for 8 years. Mr. Dabiri later joined Magnum Trust Bank Plc in December 1998 as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, successfully transforming it into a full-fledged commercial bank after the divestment of Guaranty Trust Bank. Until his retirement in 2008, he was the Group Managing Director/CEO of Sterling Bank Plc (the consolidated consortium of 5 banks consummated in 2005). He played a major role in change management initiatives to ensure strategic business focus on trade finance, capital markets and consumer banking services for the organizations. Mr. Tunde Dabiri is on the Board of several organizations which include, in the education sector: Lagos Business School Alumni Association, Lagos State University Governing Council, University of Ibadan Advancement Board, Corona Schools Trust Council; and in the manufacturing sector - Capetex Industries Ltd, Academy Press Plc, LT&C Colleagues Ltd, etc.

MARTIN G. W. GOODMAN, Director and overseas representative of Academy Press Plc. Educated at Marlborough College, Wiltshire and South Down College, Havanr. He is a director of Hambleside Limited, U.K., technical partners to Academy Press Plc. He joined Hambleside in 1979 and has held various positions before he was appointed to their board of directors in 1987. his first visit to Nigeria and Academy Press was in 1980, and has been responsible for procurement of raw materials as well as providing technical support to Academy Press since that date. Mr. Goodman is a Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supplies in the U.K.

FOLASHADE B. OMO-EBOH (MRS), is a graduate of Psychology and Publishing from Yorkshire, Huddersfield Polytechnic and Oxford Polytechnic, Oxford, respectively. She joined the West African Book Publishers Limited in 1990 as Assistant Production Manager. She became Production Manager in 1991 and Senior Production Manager in 1995. She was promoted Executive Director, Production & Publishing in March 1996 and became the company’s Managing Director in 2001. She was appointed to the Board of Academy Press Plc in November 2009. Mrs. Omo-Eboh is a graduate of Lagos Business School. She is married with children.

OYEWOLE OLAOYE is a non-Executive Director of the company. He is a graduate of the University of Ife where he bagged B.A. (Literature in English) and the University of Lagos where he obtained M.Sc. in Mass Communication. His working career has seen him go from the Western Nigerian Broadcasting Service (WNBS) to Indigo Magazine and then to Drum Publications where he rose to become an Editor. He was also a columnist with both Drum and Trust Magazines between 1975 and 1984. From Drum, he joined West African Book Publishers Ltd (WABP) in 1984 on the editorial team of Monthly Life magazine and rose to become Editor-in-Chief before he was appointed as Alternate Director (Administration & Planning) in 1990. While with WABP, he was privileged to make valuable contributions to the marketing efforts of the EDCON Group, particularly Academy Press. He has since established a PR/Communication firm, Diametrics Limited, Abuja where he is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.Mr. Olaoye has served as a member of the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, between 2006 and 2010, and a Director of OAU Investment Company Ltd (incorporating publishing, printing, hospitality, manufacturing, agricultural, engineering and logistical enterprises) from 2008 to 1012. He was also for several years, Chairman of the joint Council/Senate Committee on Senior Staff Discipline of the Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Leadership Newspapers and a Columnist in Daily Trust. He was appointed to the Board of Academy Press on April 29, 2013. Married with three children, Mr. Olaoye is a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and the African Public Relations Association (APRA). In the course of professional commitments, he has visited 35 out of the 36 states of Nigeria and has extensively toured the US, UK, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana, Gambia and Rwanda. A former National President of The Great Ife Alumni Association, he is a recipient of the highest national honour of Grand Commander of Great Ife conferred by the worldwide Alumni Association of Obafemi Awolowo University

OMOSOLA SOKUNBI, the Executive Director, Operations, holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from the Lagos State Polytechnic and a Masters (MBA) in the same discipline from Lagos State University. He worked with the Federal Ministry of Works, First Bank Plc, and Lagos State Ministry of Education before joining Academy Press Plc in 1990 as a Senior Supervisor (Confidential Printing). He was moved to Production Planning department in 1991 and rose to become the Head in 2004. He became the Deputy Production Coordinator in 2009 and Production Coordinator in 2012 to take full charge of activities in the Works Operations Division of the company. He was appointed to the Board of Academy Press Plc on April 1, 2014. Mr. Sokunbi is married with children.
